The Service we offer:

Our application process has been designed to be as simple as possible for our clients. All you need to do is fill out our Application Form and wait for notification via email of your tax returns status - we will take care of everything else.

If you are owed a tax return, we will process this and deposit it in your account, letting you know about the status of your application along the way. If you are not owed a tax return we will make you aware of this and wish you well, with not a cent owing!

Our partner GSM Accountants will request a Personal Tax Summary on your behalf and process any applicable refunds for the previous five years. You could be owed money for any of the last five years - we have processed some returns for clients who hadn't suspected they were owed a single tax return, let alone several!

 

What Happens After I Sign Up? 

Once you sign up you will receive an email from us to confirm your application. We will begin to process your tax return immediatley and will be in contact with you as soon as we have determined whether you are due a return or not. This can take between ten and thirty working days depending on the size of your tax return and the current workload of the IRD. We then file your return with the IRD and wait for the funds to clear. This can take a further ten working days. Every day we process tax returns from our trust account, so as soon as we have received your refund it will be deposited into your bank account. When this happens we will notify you to let you know of your total return and our fee. Please note that virtually all of the waiting time in this process is due to the IRD and not our own team. We will always endeavour to bring you the fastest possible service. 


Is There Anything Else I Should Know?

After signing up with our service you will receive a letter from the IRD confirming that you have been linked as a client to GSM Mclauchlan Accountants Ltd. This is a legal requirement that allows us to act on your behalf. You will also be notified that the bank account nominated for your tax return has been changed to our trust account. This is in order for us to receive your tax return on your behalf and pay it out to you. Our trust account is fully audited and protected under New Zealand law.

Please note that we will not act on your behalf after filing any outstanding tax returns. We will not perform any more work without your express permission, and you are able to de-link yourself from our agency whenever you wish.
