We have processed many returns for individuals who have done it themselves and received no money back - if you want it done right, do it with us the first time.
If you are not owed money or are due a return less than $80 then you pay nothing. For returns over $80 there is a fee of 17.5% ($40 minimum). A typical charge for an individual's tax return is $100 per hour + GST. This is a non-refundable charge that you pay regardless of whether you receive a refund. We only charge you if you are owed money, and then our average is only $51!
If we discover that you owe the IRD money, we don't process your tax return - therefore there is no possibility of you receiving a tax bill. We are currently experiencing some delays with the IRD and this means the process is taking slightly longer than usual. Within 15 to 30 working days we will have determined your tax situation over the previous five years and contact you with details regarding whether you are owed a refund or not. We then await deposits from the IRD before paying our your return to you. This can take a further 10 to 30 working days. Please note that the majority of the waiting time is determined by the IRD, and not by us. In exceptional circumstances your refund may take longer: please Contact Us if you have any questions regarding your application.

The IRD will not be releasing these Personal Tax Summaries until the middle of June. This is because the IRD needs time to process all employment details from the previous financial year.
